Police carried out a search in Fife following reports that a male youth was spotted with a “firearm”.
Emergency services were called to the School Brae area of Kirkcaldy at around 3.35pm on Tuesday.
It comes following reports of a youth, understood to be male, in possession of a “firearm”.
Officers confirmed there is no wider threat to the public at this time.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 3.35pm on Tuesday, 4 June, 2024, we received a report of a male youth in possession of what appeared to a firearm in the School Brae area of Kirkcaldy.
“Officers are carrying out a search of the area.
“There is no wider threat to the public.”
