Police launch search to find two missing boys thought to be together

Officers said it is 'imperative' they find the teenagers, one of which disappeared on Sunday.

Police have launched a search mission to locate two teenage boys who are thought to be together.

Officers said it is “imperative” they find the 13-year-old and 15-year-old to ensure they are safe.

Ben McDougall, 13, was last seen around 8.40pm on in the Gravesend area of Arbroath, Angus.

He is around 5ft 6in with a slim build and short, dark hair.

He was last seen wearing a black Nike jacket, black tracksuit and white Nike training shoes.

Stuart Munro, 15, was last seen in the Meadowmill area of Tranent, East Lothian at around 1.35am on Tuesday.

He is around 5ft 6in, with a medium build and short brown hair.

He was last seen wearing a green tracksuit, black body warmer and an orange hat.

Officers believe the teens are together and say enquiries have established the last confirmed sighting of both boys was around 2pm in the Prestonpans area yesterday. 

There is a possibility they may have travelled to Edinburgh. 

Sergeant Calum Connelly said: “A number of resources are being used to locate Stuart and Ben.

“Given their age, it’s imperative we locate them to ensure they are safe and well.

“If anyone has seen the boys or has any information about where they may be, please get in touch with us.”

Anyone with information is asked to call Police Scotland via 101, quoting incident number 0149 of March 12.
