Police are searching for a 78-year-old man who has not been seen for nearly two weeks.

Alan Martin was last spotted on Friday, September 1 in Lauriston Place in Edinburgh at around 12am.

Police Scotland said while his home address is unknown he is believed to be living in a garage or lock up in Morningside or Bruntsfield.

Martin is described as white, 5ft 8 tall and of slim build. He has white hair and a large white beard.

He often wears shorts, is rarely seen without a hat and has an English accent.

The pensioner is known to travel on a cargo-style pedal bike but officers said it is unknown whether he currently has access to the cycle.

“If anyone has seen Alan or has any information on his whereabouts or can identify his garage, please call 101 and quote incident number 3571 of September 11,” Police Scotland said.
