Police charge man and woman in connection with Hogmanay pub shooting

One man died and another was seriously injured during the double shooting on New Year's Eve.

Two people have been charged in connection with a double shooting outside a pub in Edinburgh on Hogmanay that left one man dead.

Emergency services were called to the Anchor Inn pub on Granton Crescent on December 31, at around 11.50pm, after a firearm seriously injured two men.

Both men, aged 38 and 39, were taken to hospital, where the 38-year-old man was pronounced dead a short time later.

A 32-year-old man and 25-year-old woman were previously arrested and have now been charged in connection with the incident.

Both are due to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Monday.

A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.
