A large fire has broken out at a scrapyard in Falkirk, causing plumes of smoke to fill the sky.

Police have urged people to stay away from the Hillview Road area of Bonnybridge as fire crews tackle the blaze.

A call was made to emergency services around 5.20pm on Wednesday evening but there have been no reports of any injuries.

“We are currently supporting Scottish Fire and Rescue Service at a large fire at a business premises in Bonnybridge,” police said.

“We may need to implement road closures. Please stay away from the area.”

Local police officers remain in attendance to support the fire service as they deal with the incident.
