An investigation has been launched after a woman was sexually assaulted by a cyclist in Dunblane.

The 60-year-old woman was attacked on Sheriffmuir Road, near the Sheriffmuir Inn, at around 7.30pm on Tuesday.

The male cyclist is described as white, aged between 16 and 18, with yellowish teeth and braces.

When last seen he was wearing a cycle helmet, sunglasses, a bright neon orange jacket and was riding a white road bike.

Officers said enquiries into the incident were ongoing.

Constable Jenna Alexander, Stirling Police Station, said: “The area is a well-used cycle route and so I am keen to hear from anyone who was in the area between 7pm and 8pm last Tuesday evening who may have seen the male cyclist in the area or who recognises the description of him.

“If you have any information that may assist police enquiries, then please phone Police Scotland on 101 quoting reference number 1983 of Wednesday, June 15, 2022 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
