Police are investigating the theft of a touring caravan in the Borders just 24 hours after thieves made off with one from another park in the same area.

Officers said a white Swift Sprite Quattro was stolen from a yard in Main Street, Kelso overnight between around 9pm on Tuesday, March 12 and 7.15am on Wednesday, March 13.

It comes after a touring caravan was stolen from nearby Thirlestane park in Lauder on Monday evening with police searching for two men in connection with the incident.

Police said enquiries are ongoing into the theft in Kelso and officers are studying CCTV footage from in and around the local area.

Inspector Colin Deans, of Peebles police station, said: “We are carrying out CCTV reviews from the area and would ask anyone with relevant footage to get in touch.

“Likewise, if you have dashcam from the area which shows a caravan matching the described make and model please get in touch.

“I would take this opportunity to remind residents to review your home and business security and ensure all doors and property entry and exit points are properly secured.”
