A body has been found in the search for a man missing from Edinburgh for five days.
Michael Toner was last seen in the Caledonian Crescent area of the capital on Wednesday, September 20 but failed to contact friends or family in the interim.
An appeal for information on the 52-year-old’s whereabouts was launched, but officers confirmed the discovery of a body in the early hours of Monday morning.
Formal identification is yet to take place, but Mr Toner’s family has been informed.
There are not thought to be any suspicious circumstances.
A report has been sent to the procurator fiscal.
