A pensioner has been rushed to hospital after being hit by a car while riding a bike in Dunbar.

The 79-year-old cyclist was taken to Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh for treatment after the collision.

Police were called to the scene of the incident on High Street around 10.15am on Sunday.

The driver of the silver Vauxhall Astra, a 60-year-old woman, was not injured in the crash.

Police Constable Stewart Logan said: “Our enquiries to establish the full circumstances of what happened are ongoing.

“Anyone who saw what happened or who has dash-cam footage that can assist is asked to call us on 101, quoting incident number 1121 of Sunday, April 23, 2023.”
