A pensioner has died after being found unconscious in a street in Edinburgh.
The 75-year-old was discovered in the city’s Learmonth Terrace shortly before 10am on Sunday.
He died a short time later in hospital and police said the death was being treated as “unexplained”.
The street was taped off for a number of hours, while officers carried out enquiries.
A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: “At 9.50am on Sunday, March 1, a 75-year-old man was found unconscious in Learmonth Terrace, Edinburgh.
“The man was taken to hospital where he later died.
“Enquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances of the death, which is currently being treated as unexplained.”
