Dozens of jobs have been lost in Midlothian after a leading home improvements business entered liquidation.

Some 51 redundancies have been made at the Terry Healy Group in Dalkeith, with trading ceased with immediate effect.

Callum Carmichael and Chad Griffin, partners with FRP Advisory, have been appointed joint administrators.

Terry Healy provided a full range of home improvement trades to local and domestic customers, with building, electrical, heating, roofing, renewable and plumbing services among those available.

The company also supplied windows and doors and operated a 24-hour emergency repairs and maintenance service.

However the facility in Midlothian is now closing with immediate effect, after “unsustainable cash flow problems” which occurred after the pandemic.

Callum Carmichael said: “Terry Healy Group had grown rapidly into one of the high profile and respected multi-trades home improvement businesses in the East of Scotland.

“Unfortunately, the business has been unable to overcome very serious financial problems and closure was the only option.

“We will now focus on asset realisations including the sale of the heating maintenance contracts database and would ask interested parties to contact the Edinburgh office of FRP Advisory as soon as possible on 0330 055 5455.”
