A pensioner with dementia who failed to return home after going out on a walk with her dog has been found “safe and well”.
Lorna Ferguson, 71, disappeared after leaving Edinburgh’s Pilrig Park at around 11am on Saturday.
Police launched a search and appealed for the public’s help to track her down.
At 9.39pm on Saturday night, the force reported that the pensioner had been found in the East Lothian area.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Police in Edinburgh are delighted to report that 71-year-old Lorna Ferguson, reported missing earlier from Pilrig Street, Edinburgh, has been traced safe and well in the East Lothian area.
“Thank you to everyone who took the time to contact us, and those who shared the appeal.”
