Man who halted Ralph Brown’s Edinburgh Fringe show at The Waverley Bar with ‘firearm’ due in court Google Maps

An Edinburgh bar was evacuated during a Fringe show after a man entered with a replica gun.

Fringe-goers were forced to flee during comedian Ralph Brown’s set at the Waverley Bar on St Mary’s Street at around 10.30pm on August 9 after the man entered the bar with what is now believed to be a BB gun.

The 43-year-old man has been charged and is due to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Thursday, August 10.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We were made aware of a disturbance at an event at premises on St Mary’s Street in Edinburgh around 10.30pm on Wednesday, August 9.

“No one was injured and a 43-year-old man was arrested in connection with the incident.

“He has been charged and is due to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Thursday, August 10.”
