A 29-year-old man was charged in connection with a serious of breaks in across Edinburgh on Tuesday.

A man has been arrested and charged following a spate of break-ins across Edinburgh after being traced by a sniffer dog.

Officers were called to reports of break ins across the Gillespie Street and Merchiston Avenue areas on Tuesday morning.

Dog handler PC Euan Storrar attended with PD Milo, who traced a 29-year-old man and recovered stolen property.

He was subsequently arrested and charged.

The 29-year-old appeared at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Wednesday.
