A 23-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the attack in Blackburn on Wednesday.

A suspect has been arrested in connection with the attempted murder of a man in a chainsaw attack.

A 35-year-old man is currently receiving treatment to serious injuries at St John’s Hospital in West Lothian.

A 37-year-old man was also hurt in the incident, which happened in the Rowan Place area of Blackburn at around 10.10pm on Wednesday night.

On Thursday afternoon, police confirmed a 23-year-old man had been arrested in connection with the murder bid.

A force spokesperson said: “Police Scotland can confirm that a 23-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the alleged attempted murder of a 35-year-old man in Rowan Place on Wednesday. 

“Officers would like to thank the public for their assistance and patience during this enquiry which has seen a number of specialist resources in the Blackburn area.”
