A man has been left seriously injured after being assaulted on a Falkirk street.
The 58-year-old was on Abbotsford Drive at around 1.15am on Friday when he was approached and attacked by two younger men aged between 18 and 24.
Emergency services attended and the injured man was taken to Forth Valley Royal Hospital in Larbert where his condition has been described as serious.
Police were also in attendance and investigating officers are now looking to trace the two people responsible.
Detective Inspector Will Harley, of Forth Valley CID, said: “One man has sustained serious injuries and our enquiries into the incident are ongoing.
“We appeal to anyone who was in the area around the time of the incident or who may have witnessed what happened to get in touch.
“We would also urge anyone with dashcam footage or private CCTV that could assist our investigation to contact officers.”
