A man has been rushed to hospital following a two-car crash outside Edinburgh.
Road policing officers shut part of the A71 between Burnwynd and Dalmahoy for almost three hours on Monday morning following the incident.
Traffic was diverted away from the area while police and roadside recovery teams cleared the road.
One man was taken to the capital’s Royal Infirmary for further treatment on his injuries before the road was reopened shortly after 10am.
His condition remains unknown.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said : Around 7.10am on Monday, March 6 we received a report of a crash involving two vehicles.
“One man was taken to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary. Road closures were in place and the road reopened around 10am.”
