A man has been rushed to hospital following a suspected assault outside an Edinburgh shopping centre.
Police cordoned off a large area outside the Newkirkgate area in Leith on Sunday afternoon while an initial investigation was carried out.
A probe remains ongoing but a 41-year-old man has been taken to a local medical facility for treatment.
“Around 2.10pm on Sunday, August 6, officers received a report of an assault on Newkirkgate,” a spokesperson for the force said.
“A 41-year-old man was taken to hospital.
“Enquiries are ongoing.”
