A man has been left injured after being seriously assaulted by two men in a “targeted” attack in Falkirk.
The 48-year-old was within a property on Bute Street on Monday when two other men entered at around 10.30pm and assaulted him, leaving him requiring hospital treatment.
Both suspects were last seen leaving the area in the direction of Wallace Street.
Emergency services were called and the victim was taken to the Forth Valley Royal Hospital where he was treated by medical staff.
Police were also in attendance and investigating officers are now appealing for information in a bid to catch the men responsible.
They are particularly keen to speak to anyone who was in the area at the time who might have information to help trace those responsible.
Detective sergeant Chris Scott, from Falkirk CID, said: “This appears to have been a targeted attack and we do not believe there was any risk to the wider public.
“We are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed anything suspicious to come forward.
“We’re also keen to hear from anyone with potential dashcam footage or private CCTV from the area, as it could prove vital to our enquiries.”
