Man in hospital after 'robbery and assault' as two arrested

A 20-year-old was left with serious injuries after being attacked and robbed at a house in Bonnyrigg.

A 20-year-old is in hospital after an alleged robbery and attack by two men at a house in Midlothian.

Emergency services were called to a property in the Machrihanish Way area of Bonnyrigg at around 6.30pm on Wednesday after receiving reports of a robbery.

The man was taken to the Edinburgh Royal Infirmary with serious injuries.

His current condition is unknown at this time.

Officers confirmed that two men, aged 19 and 21, have been arrested in connection with the crime.

Enquires remain ongoing.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 6.30pm on Wednesday, April 5, police received reports regarding the serious assault and robbery of a 20-year-old man at a property in the Machrihanish Way area of Bonnyrigg.

“He was taken to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary, with serious but not life-threatening injuries. Two men, aged 19 and 21, have been arrested and enquiries are continuing.”
