A man is fighting for his life in hospital after being found seriously injured on a street in West Lothian.
Emergency services were called to Jackson Place in Livingston around 11.40pm on Friday evening.
The 46-year-old man was rushed to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh and remains in a critical condition.
A 32-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident and police said enquiries were ongoing.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 11.40pm on Friday, July 21 2023, police were called after a 46-year-old man was found seriously injured outside an address in Jackson Place, Livingston.
“He was taken by ambulance to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh where medical staff describe his condition as critical.
“A 32-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident. Enquiries are continuing.”
