A man has appeared in court in connection with the death of a two-year-old boy in Edinburgh.
Lucasz Czapla, 40, was charged with assault and three driving offences at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Monday.
He was arrested following the toddler’s death in Muirhouse on Saturday morning.
As well as the assault charge, Czapla is accused of dangerous driving, being drunk behind the wheel and failing to stop and report an accident.
He was remanded in custody and is due to appear in court again within eight days.
