A man has died after getting into difficulty in the water at an East Lothian beauty spot.
Emergency services were called to a beach in Tyninghame, East Linton on Sunday following reports of a man struggling in the water.
The 51-year-old was assisted by attending emergency services, however he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Confirming the incident, Police Scotland said that there were no suspicious circumstances surrounding the man’s death.
A spokesperson for the force said: “A 51-year-old man has died after getting into difficulty in the water at a beach in Tyninghame, East Linton on Sunday, September 18.
“Police and emergency services, supported by the RNLI and local coastguard, attended, however, the man died at the scene.
“There are no suspicious circumstances surrounding his death and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.”
