A man has been charged after a woman was struck down in an alleged hit and run in Stirling.

The 63-year-old victim was crossing the road at King Street in the city around 2.20pm on Saturday when she was hit by a car.

The woman was taken to Forth Valley Hospital for treatment after suffering a serious leg injury.

A 31-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with road traffic offences.

Police Scotland said he will be reported to the Procurator Fiscal.
