A man has been charged after an alleged attempted robbery involving a BB gun in Dunfermline.

Police were called to a Post Office on Abbey View around 2.15pm on Thursday following the incident.

A 36-year-old man was arrested and charged in connection and is due to appear at Dunfermline Sheriff Court on Friday.

No one required medical treatment and a BB gun was recovered during the incident.

A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: “A man has been arrested in connection with an attempted robbery in Dunfermline.

“Around 2.15pm on Thursday, June 13, 2024, we were called to premises on Abbey View, Dunfermline.

“Officers attended and a 36-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection. He is due to appear at Dunfermline Sheriff Court on Friday, June 14, 2024.

“No one required medical treatment.

“A BB gun was recovered during this incident.

“A report will be forwarded to the Procurator Fiscal.”
