Police swooped in on an East Lothian town following reports of a man causing alarm while wearing a “straitjacket”.
Officers were alerted to the alleged incident in Dunbar after concerns were raised on social media.
A suspect was traced on Hogmanay and charged with three offences.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Following concerns raised over social media in Dunbar about a male wearing what was described as a [‘straitjacket’] and acting in a manner which was causing alarm and distress we conducted an investigation.
“We can now confirm that on December 31 a male was traced and charged with three offences relating to these concerns.
“A report has been sent to the Procurator Fiscal.”
