A man has been arrested after armed police were called to a disturbance at a Fife house.

Officers were called to the property at Douglas Terrace, in Windygates, at around 4.15pm on April 5.

A 38-year-old man was arrested and charged in connection with the incident.

No injuries were reported as a result, and police said their enquiries are ongoing.

The incident impacted the main road into Leven at Durie Vale roundabout, causing large diversions and tailbacks.

Images from the scene showed police cars lined up at the Durie Vale roundabout car park.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We were made aware of a man causing a disturbance at a property on Douglas Terrace in Windygates around 4.15pm on Wednesday, April 5.

“Officers attended and a 38-year-old man was arrested and charged in connection.

“No one was injured and enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.

“The incident was contained and officers are grateful for the patience of the local community.”
