A man has been rushed to hospital after being ‘slashed’ in an attack at a pub in Edinburgh.
The incident happened at The Strathmore pub on Iona Street in Leith around 5pm on Friday.
Emergency services attended the scene and a 61-year-old man was taken to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh for treatment following the assault.
A 62-year-old man was arrested and police said enquiries were ongoing.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We were called around 5pm on Friday, February 23, to a report of an assault on the Iona Street area of Edinburgh.
“Emergency services attended and a 61-year-old man was taken to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh for treatment.
“A 62-year-old man has been arrested and enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.”
