A man has appeared in court after being charged with the attempted murder of a 22-year-old at a house in Midlothian.
Police were called to Dykes Road, in Penicuik, on Saturday after a man was allegedly seriously assaulted at a house.
His current condition is unknown.
A 43-year-old man has since been arrested and charged in connection with the incident.
He appeared at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Monday.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 9.10pm on Saturday, March 18, 2023, officers were called to a report of a 22-year-old man allegedly seriously assaulted at a property on Dykes Road, Penicuik.
“A 43-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with the alleged incident.
“He appeared at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Monday, March 20, 2023.”
