A man has appeared in court charged with rape after a teenage girl was allegedly raped in Princes Street Gardens.
James Leckie is accused of attacking the 16-year-old in Edinburgh at around 10pm on Saturday, September 16.
Officers said they had taken a 25-year-old man into custody in connection with the incident on Monday.
He appeared at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Thursday, September 21, charged with sexual offences and the Criminal Justice and Licensing (Scotland) Act 2010.
He made no plea, was committed for further examination and remanded in custody.
He is due to return to court within eight days.
