A man and woman have appeared in court charged with attempted murder after a fire tore through a block of flats in Fife.
Seven appliances were sent to Lochgelly just after 7pm on Monday after flames and smoke were seen billowing from the roof of the building on Francis Street.
There were no reported casualties as a result of the blaze.
Police Scotland confirmed that a man and a woman had been charged in with wilful fire raising to danger of life, and attempted murder, in connection with the blaze.
Chloe Arnott, 30, and Jamie Morrison, 33, made no plea in relation to the charge at Dunfermline Sheriff Court on Wednesday and were both remanded in custody.
Both were committed for further examination within the next eight days and were remanded in custody.
