Lidl has launched a limited edition deodorant designed to smell like the port of Leith.

The Cien gift box includes a scent “inspired by the eclectic community of Edinburgh’s Leith district”.

The Christmas collection also includes deodorants concocted to reflect the town of Barry, in Wales, the city of Hull and London’s Peckham.

Cien Leith is described as “an eclectic aroma that reflects the area’s sense of community spirit and perseverance, with an undercurrent of its industrious roots.

“Not to forget its artistic flair, fresh sea air, locally baked sourdough, booze-soaked beer mats and friendly dugs aplenty – this one really is not to be ‘mist’,” the description continues.

With only 500 box sets available, customers can register their interest with Lidl and will be entered into a draw to win one of the sets for free.

A Lidl spokesperson said: “Perfect as a stocking filler for the Lidl-loyal Leither in your life and proud residents alike.”
