Trainspotting author Irvine Welsh has married former Taggart actor Emma Currie.
The 63-year-old announced the news on Instagram on Wednesday.
A photograph of the couple sat on a bench in their wedding attire was posted by Welsh.
“Knot tied. All good in the world. See you later, alligators,” he wrote.
Currie also shared two of images of the occasion to her own Instagram page, simply captioned: “Today I married the love of my life.”

In 1996, Trainspotting was made into a film directed by Danny Boyle and starring Ewan McGregor and Robert Carlyle.
Its sequel, T2 Trainspotting, was released more than two decades later in 2017.
James McCavoy starred as Detective Sergeant Bruce Robertson in the film adaptation of Filth, released in 2013 and directed by Jon S. Baird.
