A hunt has been launched for a suspect after jewellery, cash and cosmetics were stolen from a house in Livingston.

Police received a report of a house having been broken into in Woodrush Glade on June 26.

The offender forced entry and stole a quantity of cash, jewellery and cosmetics before fleeing.

Officers said that, at around 10am that same morning, a person they believe is linked to the crime was seen riding a Brampton-style bike nearby.

They have been described as white, with a heavy build, wearing a black hoodie and black leggings.

The suspect is also believed to have been wearing a blonde wig at the time in an attempt to conceal their actual appearance.

Police said they cycled up the street and were seen a short time later walking up the street.

Detective Constable Jennifer Rogers said: “I am appealing for any information regarding this incident and this suspect.

“Perhaps they were seen elsewhere in the area or were seen in the company of another person.

“Any small piece of information could be helpful to our ongoing investigation, so please do contact us and pass it on.”
