Hunt for red Ford Focus as man charged in 'attempted murder'

A 25-year-old man has been arrested and charged after the incident in North Berwick.

Detectives are hunting for a red Ford Focus used in an alleged attempted murder believed to have involved two cars in East Lothian.

The incident at around 8pm on July 30 also involved a white Audi A3.

It took place on roads near Tantallon Castle, Whitekirk, Tyninghame, all in North Berwick, and near the entrance to Foxlake, in Dunbar.

A 25-year-old man named Dylan Hislen has been arrested and charged with attempted murder.

He appeared before Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Thursday, August 3, where he made no plea and was remanded in custody.

Police have appealed for help tracing the red Ford Focus which has the registration plate YM65 WWF.

Anyone with CCTV or dashcam footage which may help has been urged to contact police.

Detective sergeant Jade Wardell said: “I am appealing to anyone who was in the area around the time of this incident. It is important we gather as much detail as possible, and any small piece of information could prove vital.

“Also, if anyone has dash cam equipment, please check it as there may be footage which could aid our investigation.

“Anyone with information is asked to call Police Scotland via 101, quoting incident number 3501 of July 30, 2023.

“Alternatively, you can pass your information to Crimestoppers anonymously by calling 0800 555 111.”
