Police are appealing for witnesses after a man attempted to board a train armed with a knife.

British Transport Police officers were made aware of reports of a man with a knife at Lanark railway station at around 10pm on December, 29, 2023.

Officers say a large group of young people gathered at the station where the man was said to be in possession of a knife.

The man attempted to board the train with the weapon.

Police are asking anyone who may have witnessed the incident to contact BTP by texting 61016 or calling 0800 40 50 40 with the reference 2300154476.
