STV NewsA footpath in Grangemouth has been cordoned off by police following reports of a serious sexual assault.
Detectives have taped off a lane in the Tinto Drive area near to Grangemouth High School.
Police remain at the scene between Scougall Street and the school.
The force confirm an investigation is now underway into reports of the attack on a 24-year-old woman.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 1.15am on Saturday, 27 July, we received a report of the serious sexual assault of a 24-year-old woman near Tinto Drive, Grangemouth.
“Enquiries are ongoing and anyone with any information is asked to contact 101 quoting reference 0290 of 27 July, 2024.”
