Firefighters tackle huge blaze at high street fish and chip shop

Fire crews are at the scene of a fish and chip shop engulfed in flames in Fife.

Emergency responders were alerted at 5.43pm on Tuesday after the blaze broke out at the Pittenweem Fish and Chip Bar in Anstruther.

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service confirmed that four fire engines and a high reach appliance are currently at the scene.

It is not yet known if there are any injuries as a result of the blaze.

Police were made aware around 5.55pm and were involved in traffic management.
