Family of missing teenager 'increasingly concerned' over her safety

The 15-year-old may have travelled to Edinburgh after leaving Lauder on Saturday but has since failed to contact family or friends.

An appeal has been launched to track down a teenager missing from the Scottish Borders amid “increasing concerns” for her welfare.

Una Zange was last seen in Lauder shortly after 2.00pm on Saturday, July 9 but has since failed to contact family or friends.

It is thought the 15-year-old, who is from Galashiels, may have travelled to Edinburgh at some point during the day.

Concerned family members say they are “worried about her safety” and have asked anyone who may know here whereabouts to report it immediately.

Una is described as being around 5’4 in height with a medium build and shoulder-length wavy dyed blonde hair.

She has a nose piercing and was wearing black joggers with a white stripe down the side and an oversized navy hooded sweatshirt at the time of her disappearance.

She also may have been carrying a a brown over the shoulder bag.

Inspector Thomson, from Galashiels Police station, said: “We are concerned for Una’s safety and appeal to anyone who may have seen her to contact police.”

Anyone who has seen Una is asked to contact officers via 101 quoting incident number 3307 of July 9.
