An elderly man has died in hospital days after being struck by a motorbike while crossing the road in West Lothian.
The 81-year-old was crossing Bathgate Road in Blackburn with a walking frame around 7.15pm on Friday, July 12 when he was struck.
He was taken to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh where he died on Tuesday, July 16.
The rider left the motorbike following the incident and made off from the scene.
Police have said they are following a “positive line of enquiry” in tracing the rider and has urged anyone with information to come forward.
Sergeant Jen Niven from Road Policing said: “Our thoughts are with the man’s family and friends at this difficult time.
“We are following a positive line of enquiry and would urge anyone with information who has not yet spoken to police to please come forward.
“Anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland through 101 with reference number 3159 of July 12.”
