A prisoner who escaped custody while being transported in Edinburgh has been traced.
Ryan Gandy, 34, was on the run after escaping custody from the Western General Hospital at around 5pm on Wednesday.
Officers had issued a missing persons appeal, and advised the public not to approach Mr Gandy, and instead contact the police immediately.
On Saturday morning, the force confirmed that Mr Gandy had been traced safely and thanked those who helped previous appeals for information.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We can confirm that Ryan Gandy, 34, who had been reported missing in Edinburgh on Wednesday, November 22 has been traced safely.
