A woman was left injured following a serious assault on a flyover across a major Scottish road.

The 23-year-old was attacked in the Sighthill area of Edinburgh near the city bypass at Calder Road shortly after 8pm on Saturday, November 26.

Investigators believe the incident may have been captured on a vehicle’s dashboard-mounted camera by a passing motorist.

An appeal has been launched to trace any footage that may assist officers in their probe into the attack.

Detective inspector Barry McDaid said: “Despite the late hour this area was busy with traffic and is well-lit. It is likely someone will have seen this incident or may have captured it on a dashcam.

“I urge people to contact us with any information they believe may assist our investigation by calling 101, quoting reference number 3265 of Saturday, November 26. Alternatively, Crimestoppers can be called anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
