Police are appealing for information in the search for a missing pensioner in the Scottish Borders.

James (Jim) Cockburn, 86, lives in the Town Yetholm area and was last seen at around 9.30am of Thursday, June 29.

It is believed he has travelled using his red Ford Fiesta, registration ET18 XFO.

He is described as being around 6ft, muscular build with broad shoulders, grey thinning hair and is clean shaven.

Inspector Rachel Campbell, from Melrose Police Station, said: “As time continues to pass since James was last seen, concerns for his welfare continue to grow.

“We are asking anyone who may have seen him or his car, or who has any information on his whereabouts, to please call police on 101, quoting incident number 3837 of June 29, 2023.”
