CCTV appeal after man assaulted at Edinburgh Airport

A CCTV appeal has been launched after a man was assaulted at Edinburgh Airport.

The attack took place within a lift in the terminal building at around 4.15am on July 1, 2019.

A 62-year-old man who was assisting a disabled passenger check in for a flight suffered an eye injury during the incident. 

Police have now released a CCTV image of a man they wish to speak to in connection with the assault.

Detective constable Sam Gillies said: “The 62-year-old man suffered an injury to his eye requiring hospital treatment as a result of this incident. 

“He was at his place of work assisting a vulnerable member of the public and we are appealing for anyone who can help us identify the man in the CCTV image to get in touch with us.”

“Anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101 and quote incident number 471 of 01/07/19 or make an anonymous report through the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
