Police search for driver of car which drove wrong way down motorway

Officers were called to the M90, near South Queensferry, after receiving reports from other drivers.

Police launched a search for a car after it was spotted driving down the wrong way of the M90 motorway.

At around 8.15pm on Tuesday, officers were called to the M90 near South Queensferry after receiving reports of a car driving in the opposite direction as other traffic on the road.

Footage from the incident captured by another driver’s car shows a blue Kia Picanto travelling down the hard shoulder on the northbound carriageway as other motorists drive past.

Officers were unable to trace the vehicle after conducting a search of the area.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 8.15pm on Tuesday, July 5, police received a report of a car traveling the wrong way on the M90 near South Queensferry.

“Officers attended and carried out a search, but no trace of any vehicle was found.”
