Police have launched an appeal for information after an Audi was deliberately set on fire in the early hours of Saturday morning in West Lothian.

The car was parked in the Curran Crescent area of Broxburn when the incident occurred at 12.35am on August 5.

The blaze caused significant damage to the Audi and other nearby vehicles.

No one was injured as a result of the fire, which was extinguished by the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service.

Detective constable Matt Morran, of West Lothian CID, said: “Fortunately no one was injured but this incident has resulted in substantial financial loss to the owners of the vehicles and distress to local residents in the area.”

Police are now appealing for anyone with information or who has CCTV or dash-cam footage to come forward.
