A man has been arrested in connection with a serious assault outside a nightclub in West Lothian.

A 24-year-old was left injured following the incident that took place in the early hours of the morning on Carmondean Central Road in Livingston last month.

Emergency services attended and the injured man was taken to hospital where he was treated for a fractured cheek.

Police investigating the alleged attack have now arrested a 31-year-old who has also been charged and is expected to appear at court at a later date.

On Thursday a spokesman for the force said: “Police in Livingston can confirm that a 31-year-old man will be reported in connection with the serious assault of a 24-year-old man on Carmodean Central Road, which took place between 2am and 3am on Sunday, February 28.

“A report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal and he is expected to appear at Livingston Sheriff Court at a later date.”
