An appeal for information has been launched after an “abandoned” guinea pig was found in Stirling.
Officers from the Scottish SPCA received a call about the animal wandering in someone’s garden at Polmaise Crescent, Fallin, on June 3.
The white, black and brown male guinea pig was found to have an eye injury, and was safely rescued.
Scottish SPCA animal rescue officer, Kelly McGuire, said: “We took him to our veterinary clinic to be assessed and he is now safe in the care of one of our animal rescue and rehoming centres.
“We know times are tough for a lot of people at the moment but this is not the way to give up a pet if you can no longer care for them.
“This would have been a very distressing experience for the animal and he was lucky to have been found when he was.
“If anyone recognises this guinea pig, they should call our confidential helpline on 03000 999 999.”
