The A9 has been closed in both directions following a crash and cows running loose on the road.

Emergency services attended the scene of the crash near Broxden Roundabout at around 7.10am on Tuesday.

It is not known at this stage whether there were any injuries as a result of the incident.

Several cows are loose on the carriageway.

Traffic Scotland reported that there is currently no estimated time for the road reopening.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 7.10am on Tuesday, 17 January, police were called to a report of a road crash on the A9, near Broxden roundabout, Perth.

“The road has been closed in both directions and officers are at the scene.”
