A71 closed in both directions after crash between car and motorbike

It is unknown if anyone was injured in the crash and drivers have been urged to take an alternative route.

The A71 is closed in both directions following a crash between a car and a motorbike in West Lothian.

Emergency services were called to the road, near East Calder, after a collision at around 2.40pm on Tuesday.

It is unknown at this stage if there are any injuries.

The road has been closed in both directions.

Drivers are being urged to find alternative routes at this time.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 2.40pm on Tuesday, October 10, 2023, police were called to the A71 near East Calder, following a report of a crash involving a car and a motorbike.

“Emergency services are in attendance and the road is currently closed.”
